There was one issue to begin with. By the time I pressed "wave" on the HUD and then ran the mouse to snapshot, the wave was done. So I shuffled my windows around to get my camera box next to the hud.
Now you can see that when I wave, the sleeves of my dress don't.
*Sigh*

This is how it is possible to waste a lifetime of time in SL!

Oh god, do I feel your pain - I have spent many hours trying to capture an expression or small movement for a snapshot and know well the shuffle windows move. Don't forget the freeze frame option in snapshot - that way you can capture an image but them move around it Matrix-style to see if a better composition exiats :)
