Bunnies For Sale
So.. I spent the weekend obsessing about rabbits The bottom line is.. I now know a bit more about it, but the pricing seems quite inconsistent across the grid. Tonight I just TPed over and again. My goal was to try to understand how the prices apply. What the hierarchy of rareness is. To find a pattern. Didn't discover it. There are a couple of things that were obviously highly sought after such as HOTOT (eyeliner bunnies) and Castor.. and a couple of others that I couldn't afford even think about but after that.. then what? Seems two floppy ears are more valuable than one. So I go home .. and I have some. White shiny bunnies attract more advertising... have some of those... A few colours in the Rex line.. tick Jewel eyes.. almost a compulsory for me after my first reckless purchases. I see that black has been retired so maybe it will be scarcer.. they certainly look stunning. So I invest in a couple.. get home to find I already had some. I didn't spend much on any of them except one white so I don't know. Maybe I am just an exceptional shopperer?? I have littered my sims with bunnies. I think I will have to build some kind of book case as I am now completely confused about what I have and where they are :) meanwhile, you can find bunnies for sale at Caledon Downs and Caledon Southend

Under Instructions
I have been told i must post a blog! His regal Highness, the tiger Tzaizqan has insisted that I must blog while he suns himself.
hurrrumph!
I actually have been so busy I do not have time to blog.

I actually have been so busy I do not have time to blog.
I have been busy making things for the Raglan Sci Fi and Space 4th Birthday celebration. And that means I haven't made any progress at all on the new blocks and moving in and making them look inhabited.
I thought I would for the sake of history, show a shot of each of the places I currently have an interest and why I am chasing my tail!

Raglan's 4th Bday
Because I have a shop in Heron Shire, which is part of Raglan, I get to put a vendor up when they hold special themed events. This works pretty well for me as a tier offset as the sales are generally quite good. The Heron Shire shop is slow business so I am looking at relocating within Raglan. Fingers crossed!!

Heron Shire
Today I was busy building tiny things (Tiny Arthur Moppet and the Balmain Space Buggy) at my completely under-developed block at Caledon Downs. It's my main prim home. Lots of prims to play with.
1100 prims
yum

I still haven't done anything but plonk a house there so that it doesn't look abandoned and I am feeling a little guilty about the look of the place. Still, I was building like a demon to get my tiny things done when I got an IM from Kaye Robiani inviting me to join her new sim Honfleur Harbour.
Honfleur is based on a French Provincial feeling
She has let me set up shop in the store, second from the right. It is very lovely and I am again crossing my fingers and hoping that this is another great opportunity.

I have hardly even had time to whizz by Tanglewood, though I did have a long talk with my neighbour from there, Newbitt. And have had many a chat with my next door neighbour, Valerian. It is very very nice to have chatty people round me once more.

Auds N Ends & Lidl Audz Lidl Kisses

I have been busy and by now I feel thick and foggy.
However I have done a complete renovation for the new block at Southend.
Sent a note off to the Victorian Shopkeepers and blogging should just about tick the last of the to-dos. I even re-boxed all the houses there with the correct up to date note card. (What a bore!!)
Feels satisfied with self :)

oh
I am sitting stunned
sad
relieved
something
not sure what
I moved into Southend in 2008 when I needed somewhere to hide from the troubles I was having in Fathom. The first block was bought by my alt, Heppi Swashbuckler. But as the end days of Fathom played out, I kept my ears to the ground and heard that Wrath was selling the two blocks on the corner. One of them was originally owned by an avatar called Cogsan. Cogsan had been a fairly horrible episode in my life and so it was odd to end up with a plot of land some how connected to her.
Anyway, in a farcical moment, Heppi and I met with Des, while Rory dropped in to bother Des and Brioni came over to say "hi" ....I ran through my house between computers while the two girls swapped land holdings til it was all sorted and Auds owned the three blocks. Rory got kicked out for good, Brioni must have thought I was crazy and I dont know that Des has ever quite trusted me since!
Time passes and I have been pretty much a model citizen since.. But time has come to make some decisions and one is that it would be better to have a smaller commitment for my credit card to have to manage. A while ago Muse asked me if I was interested in selling. At that time I wasn't but it did plant a seed so the next time I heard some one was looking, I mentioned to Mr Edward that I might be able to tear a bit off my parcels.
That much achieved without too many tears, when Alastair asked me if I was willing to sell him a piece.... well I said yes before I could change my mind. He was quite kind, realising the emotional ties I have there and offered to include a small parcel of his from Southend. A drastic downsizing.
But it will save me quite a bit per month and will hopefully mean that with my little sales of houses and moppet stuff, I may actually be able to run Second life cash neutral. Which in the long term is the only way I will be able to do it.
Don't ask me how I feel about it right now though, as I may cry

Changing times
This is something that I have been having a long debate with myself about for ages. I have too much land. I am spread too thin. It costs too much. So I am selling off the Frankston Villa block in Southend to Edward Pearse.
I am over the pangs. It is all a jumble in inventory, like so much of my memories.

Away
A year ago I went on holidays and I was beside myself worrying about suffering from SL withdrawal.
It's a year on, the addiction has eased its grip and I am enjoying a little away time with ease.
Before I left, I ran round and fed meters.. rent in Victoriana Forest, Victoriana Pavilion, 3 blocks in Caledon Southend and the Heronshire Raglan store. That.. is a fair bit of rent all up!
Fortunately my cottage industry of houses and dresses had put a few cents in my account to offset the expense so it was just a smallish transfer to US then to Linden dollars. I HATE the double exchange.
On the SL website front page they have links to various subjects and today there was "What I hate most about SL". I think the double sting of currencies would have to be my hate, as I really don't hate anything else at all :)
One thing I did forget to do was to pack up my vendors in the middle of Raglan that had been set up for the season's celebrations. I guess someone will parcel it up and send it home if it is meant to be cleaned up before I get "home"
I am enjoying my out of world time and my eyes are feasting on South Coast cottages imagining them turned into SL reality :) Back soon, refreshed !

Keep Busy
Keep Busy is the goal.. otherwise being left at home while the kids head to Queensland for a theme park holiday without me will get a little overwhelming.
So today I planned to finish the federation house I began at Christmas.
With a bit of time off line when my good mood got squelched as mentioned below, I still managed to achieve my goal. (Thanks Fogwoman, you are wise :) )
The house is mostly, sort of, finished.
I have replaced Heppi's House in Southend where my house vendors are and put in Saint Alban's as it is known as of a few minutes ago.
May tweak a bit here and there yet. Do some landscaping. And fill it with furniture for photos for the vendor board.

Dancing in Southend
Waiting for Taz to wake, I lurked in Southend. I was looking for fabric on Google Images for another cat frock. I found one, and then needed to take off the frock I was wearing to copy and paste it.
As my kitten became entirely unclad, I noticed a pair of legs behind me! Brioni from across the tracks had come to say 'hi'. I felt somewhat at a disadvantage both in bare fur and tiny.. so I transformed into big Auds.
Brioni asked me to dance while I tried to wake sleeping tiger. As we danced, we talked about my perception of him as the local Casanova which I had just confessed to.
I don't have a clue why I am so indiscreet with my thoughts but it is the case that mostly, what is in my mind will find a way out my mouth:)
Fortunately Brioni is a nice guy and took it well and explained that a couple of the 'regulars' are in fact good friends that he chats with while dancing. Much like the one we were having, he said.
I am happy to still imagine him as the neighborhood Lothario. Any good neighborhood needs one to complete the scene :)
We parted ways when I gave up trying to subtly wake the tiger and instead pushed him from his bed....

..there is a Season...
We are moving from Autumn to Winter in my SL homes.
Victoriana is still enjoying the end of summer days as the softness of Autumn falls onto the sun warmed lawns.

Caledon has had a cold wind blow over bringing in early snows and a yearning for the quiet of winter spent next to the fire in the arms of some one warm.

Cheese and Whiskers!!!!
Cheese and Whiskers!!!!
I have crashed again
You know.. I have been playing sl for a good long time now, and I don't understand why having been bad, and gotten better, it has to get worse again.
I have hardly logged out successfully now for days.
Either I crash or the sim crashes.
I cant post a photo of anything much for your enjoyment as asking SL to take a photo to disc is to put my SL in jeopardy. Crash crash crash
Southend has even required a trip to the doctors where any attempt to get the scripts running crashes the sim. So My doors remain locked to my houses with the scripts disabled.
I have forever been a very happy user of sl, and never felt the need to join in Linden bashing. I am not looking this gift horse in the mouth.
But i do wish i could stop crashing!

Land, Prims, Southend and Twaddle

Ahhh ! I am a forward thinking Victorian and have built a futuristic home and placed it into Caledon Southend! I showed a few photos of the making of this house some months back but building stalled quite a bit while I played with tiny dresses.
For the uninitiated- when you own land in SL you have a set number of prims to the area that you own or rent. That is why economically built items are attractive as a concept for they allow you to have more detail in your environment.
By selling one of my plots I was reducing the number of prims I could have placed out on my virtual land. I can keep what I don't have out on display on file or "inventory" but really the reason I own land in SL is because I like to decorate a little bit of the virtual world to my taste.
So I packed up the railway station with regret and The Edwardian. Honestly, getting that turret room sorted was such a brain drain I needed a bit of a break!
I cant believe how many months have passed since then!
For a while, it seemed like too much bother to find the prim allowance to get it back out again. Finally though I had overdosed on tiny and got back to the house. Wow it was so refreshing to lugging big prims around again.
I made some new textures to get what I wanted. Notably the front and back doors. I need to get into my sculpty thing and make some terracotta finials too.

Cutea Benelli
I have been enjoying having long legs beneath me again and today I have been strutting around in my super high heels. I even went so far as to add a few inches to my legs. Last count I was 6'9... before heels...
I got a call to NCI beach side to join in with the dancing. It was a lot of fun and so nice to be greeted. I have found it a bit lonesome lately in Caledon. Mr Cheeeeky set Theo and Caill and I all dancing to Thriller which was particularly funny as Theo was a cat-tailed sack of flour :)I walked back into world in time to hear Caledon talking about Cutea. I mentioned how much I had enjoyed the Shamrock green outfit she made which I wore and wore and wore.
Next thing I know, she has sent me another to add to the wardrobe. I immediately popped it on and strutted about admiring it. I sent back to Cutea one of the Moppet outfits. Coco as she is one of my favourites.
Very nice!
I have taken a couple of photos of me walking around the Moppet shop then went inside to sit down and do some moppet stuff
When I sat down on my sofa, out from under the voluminous skirts pops gorgeous shoes!

Besides the usual dress obsessing, i have been doing a bit of real estate wrangling. Mr Alastair brought it to my attention that Miss Garnet Psaltery might be interested in some land in Southend.
It has been worrying me for a while that my land hunger was starting to add up to a reasonable sized bill, and the house sales I was having a while back have dropped off once more.
So it seemed like a good idea to let Miss Psaltery have a little slice of Southend.
Things happen so swiftly.
In no time at all, the railway station was packed up, gone for the foreseeable future. A shame in a way, but that is the mercurial quality of content in SL.
And this time the dismantling of one of my homes was not nearly as distressing as the last, when I had to leave Winterfell. It was very nice to be part of a happy story!
Welcome Miss Garnet!

It Begins Again

New project time!
I am building a Victorian federation house. Victorian as in state of Australia Victorian. Feels like I am back in over my head again.. and this time I am doing the octagons instead of the hexagons.
Ahhh.. but isn't the real house a beauty?
When done, I will replace Heppi's house in Southend.

Further developments
A little more building to keep my mind busy and my hands from being idle... I have built a cover for some of the wharf to match the Bournville House. Then the moon came up! I was telling a visitor to Southend that I love to watch the moon.. and then we were not able to see it at all! I am so glad to find out I didnt imagine it!

Teaching Taz to Build

Tzaizqan has mentioned a few times that he would like to start building but time in SL can seem to run through your fingers like sand grains. It seems that getting him started just drifted. Finally though he decided that he wanted to build a phone booth. Great! here was an objective. An object actually. Much more fun to aim towards than just "lets rez a cube, shall we?".
An ozzie phone booth is about as attractive as a 1970s shower cubicle. What we wanted to build was a traditional Pommy red Phone booth, so it required a brief time in google images and then I had a mental map of what he wanted to build.
Next was the job of figuring what prims and textures would combine to best represent this. So off we went. Taz rezzing, me nudging. Really very little nudging was required. Intuitive builder, he is. When he saw what I meant and was shown a couple of short cuts... off he went.
There now stands a vintage, if not quite Victorian public phone booth in Caledon Southend.
We are now looking for the next project for the tiger to sink his teeth into :)

Steelhead
I guess I didn't land in Steelhead with as much noise as I have landed at my other homes.
I have chronicled the various moves I have made around sl and how I ended up living in Caledon Southend. Now I just need to add how the circle has been completed with my arrival in Steelhead :) Back when I first went house hunting I found a block of land at Wyre and a block of land at Steelhead. I was torn. Couldn't decide which way to jump.
I met Krystine Qinan while I was wandering around and she invited me along to one of the Steelhead town meetings. What an outrageous event that was. I had never seen anything so funny in sl.
I cant even remember what decided me in the end. I loved the community at Steelhead, but Wyre had a quiet wildness. I chose Wyre. History happens, I moved and moved, and ended up in Caledon.
In the lead up to Christmas, I was feeling a little overwhelmed by Southend. So much going on, so many people passing by. I loved it, but I needed a little space. I guess I was also feeling a bit confined after being used to the freedom and space of Fathom. Anyhow, I heard on the wind that a new sim was being added to Steelhead, and there is some charm in being an early settler so I found myself a spot and waited for it to be ready. Meanwhile I ran home to Southend, erected a sky platform and began building a light house. You can see a picture of it in the blog entry for 30th January.Soon as the block was ready I dropped the light house on it and there it is, looking mighty handsome in my opinion.
Since the end of Christmas crazy, I dont seem to need the Steelhead house so much and have turned it into a shop. Today someone bought the first thing from it!
