Dress making once more
I have a completely meaningless way of filing textures.... by month. It is hopeless if I need something unless I remembner when I made it, however, i do know when i made them if I can find them :)
So I happen to know that I haven't made any dress textures for a month. Amazing!
Well today, without actually feeling like I have been stuck into it, I have been stuck into it!
I have made two styles for Halloween. A punkin dress and a spider dress so far.
The spider dress is called Charlotte Moppet, as I was thinking of Charlotte's Web and the punkin one has a little punkin beret on her head :)

Lady Najelle
The other day I met the oldest Av I have met so far in sl. Stillpink Sandgrain, who was rezzed in November 2003, suggested I needed to make a pink medieval costume. With a name like that I guess I shouldn't be surprised :) My best RL buddy is partial to pink too, so I have named it for her.

lady Josephine
A while back I posted a bit of an article on how building is done in sl for my friend Jo who lives in RL!
After watching a bit more of my none sense she asked that I make her a dress. I think she planned for it to be very flouncy etc... but that's not what I am up to yet..
I am still making stuff for the Raglan Medieval thingy
So rather than have her wait, I have called this latest dress after her.
I may get to doing a Little Women Jo for her later :)

Competioning again
Ahhh it has been a long time since I had a weekend off work. But I am on holidays! So I have been able to go to both the Building Blitz and the Oldies Show and Tell at NCI Caledon. On Sunday I got to Building Blitz.. the theme was Blizzard. Not really something an urban ozzie has a lot of experience with...so I pulled the word apart, put it together again... There were some lovely builds there.. I loved what won, which was a snow dome. And I came third! Nice! I guess because it was a bit silly rather than a wonderful build.
I told as much as I showed... no surprise there I guess! I told them how I am enjoying building clothes as I don't have to worry about the prim count.
If I am working some where and the available prims are low, depending on what i am doing, I chose to wear the prims rather than build them on the ground and then wear them after it is all said and done. The shoes I did a little both ways. It is a real nuisance to make a pair of shoes that fit perfectly when not worn, then not quite being able to find exactly the right rotation etc to get them to fit once they are worn. That bothers me a lot.
But as well, when I build a house, I can't always put it out on show as I would have to pull down one of the others. Dress building I get to wear the newest creation and naturally when it is time for something new, I am happy to take off the old :) Tiny Auds, who originally was the poor sister to big Auds in the wardrobe department, is swiftly building a large collection of frocks.
What do you get when Ms Lizard and Mr Bee get together and have babies?
Then today I happened to catch show and tell. I have sort of lost track of when things are on as I haven't had a chance to get to any of my old usuals... so it was a bit of a fluke. I wasn't sure if the lag in Caledon's Oxbridge was going to let me get dressed into the steampunk out fit or not, so I just stayed in my new Daisy gear. Complete with 96 prim shoes!I told as much as I showed... no surprise there I guess! I told them how I am enjoying building clothes as I don't have to worry about the prim count.

Mary Moppet- a pesky wench
Mary Moppet insisted on a hat. I played with hats all afternoon. Finished it. Photographed it. Put it in in-world vendors. Cooked dinner. Returned to hear the wretch say that it wasn't good enough and would I mind replacing cylinders with toruses.

Making Dresses
I went for a wander the other day and ended up in Nix Sands' shop and I am just so impressed with the tiny things he is making!

Nix is making things for Loco Poco tinies. Very detailed, lovely things.
My new resolution is to give the detail a bit more attention.

Today I fiddled on a dress I began sometime in the last couple of days t'il it was done. I was making Flora Moppet. Pretty floral with stripes and lace. She even has fancy drawers under her full length skirt

I got her into vendors and onto SLexchange and then considered how many designers in SL create a range on the same style. So I went and played in paint.net, created a texture in pinks and browns which are on of my current favourite colour combos and tadah! Coco Moppet is born! All original textures. And a lot of fun to make and wear!

Merry Widow Moppet
I have put the complicated roof of the Federation house on the back burner while my brain takes some time out. SL is supposed to be a retreat and at the moment I need it!
So I have been making more tiny dresses.
They are low stress.
I get to concentrate on repeating patterns which is a passion I have and I used extensively in my Catherine Wheels from my other life.
This is the most recent offering.. named for the Widows of Caledon!

Did, doing and will do...
I promised that I wouldn't blog the dresses.... and will try hard not to post a picture.. but will quietly mentioned that a very Queenie Auds has been seen hopping around sl for the last few days and can be found on slexchange.
Having finished that outfit off and boxed it up, the question is what next?
Tonight I have just messed around. It has been a while since I went dress shopping and as I heard Miss Wunderlich talking in Steelhead, I thought I would revisit her shop. Seems to be something I do atthe end of project runs.
Then while talking with Taz we discovered a photo of the Bournville rest house. I think it will be what I do next! Cute, huh?
